Library Visit to Gowa District Library

The library is always nice. Today, we visited a new library located in Gowa District. We embarked on an educational excursion to the Gowa District Library, located in Gowa, South Sulawesi. The purpose of this visit was to emphasize the significance of libraries as repositories of knowledge and to underscore the importance of utilizing them as vital resources for learning and acquiring information. We move at 9:00am facing to the South, Gowa District. It took an hour to arrive at the new building with brick walls. Yes, that is the Public Library of Gowa District. Some parts of the building are still under construction. But the main area is open space and ready to use. We were so excited to see this library.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the staff of the library, who provided an overview of the facilities and services offered. The library, adorned with shelves lined with books of various genres and subjects, presented itself as a sanctuary of knowledge waiting to be explored.

The visit commenced with a guided tour of the library, during which the students were introduced to the organization and categorization of books, journals, and other resources. They learned about the Dewey Decimal Classification System and how it facilitates the systematic arrangement of materials, enabling efficient access to information.

Furthermore, the students were acquainted with the diverse array of resources available at the library, including printed books, e-books, periodicals, reference materials, and digital databases. They were encouraged to explore these resources to enrich their understanding of different subjects and broaden their intellectual horizons.

In addition to the physical resources, the students were introduced to the various services offered by the library, such as research assistance, computer facilities, study areas, and educational programs.
